The CAP encourages and funds several innovative agricultural practices such as vertical farming and hydroponics that allow the cultivation of agricultural products in controlled environments with minimal use of soil. Digital upgrading is also encouraged, such as automation in the field, farms and greenhouses, the installation of environmental factor recording systems, and the use of GPS and drones.

The CAP promotes the development of organic farming through almost all funding measures. The EU’s target for organic farming is for member states to have 25% of their agricultural land under organic production by 2023. Thus, through the CAP measures, there is support for farmers who join organic farming. Also, in all CAP measures, organic farmers and livestock breeders benefit from greater credit allocation.

The LEADER Programme includes measures related to agritourism. Such measures are the creation of agritourism accommodations in rural areas, the creation of agricultural theme parks, the creation of catering facilities and the creation of retail stores selling agricultural products.

Through the Leader program, both children and young people have the opportunity to receive training in the fields of Agrotourism and Rural Tourism, training in the marketing and promotion of local agricultural traditional products, training in traditional professions and traditional Cypriot handicrafts and Environmental Education and Awareness.

In all CAP measures, priority is given to rural areas that are remote. Communities at an altitude of over 400 meters, communities of Akamas and the Tylliria region have more points in both investment plans and young farmers, with the aim of attracting people to participate.

Within the CAP 2023-2025 there is a special plan for the establishment and activation of young people in agriculture. This Intervention is called AA 5 “Establishment of young farmers”. Its aim is to provide financial support to young people under 41 years of age who wish to join and become active in the primary sector with sustainable farms. The main objective of the Intervention is to address the aging of the agricultural potential and development of economically viable and competitive farms by farmers who will be established for the first time in the primary sector as farm managers/heads and who possess or will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.

CAP 2023–2027 promotes gender equality and empowers women through it as women can participate in all its funding measures without discrimination. There is also the possibility of training and skill development in the areas that interest them. Actions are also being taken to raise awareness about inequality in the agricultural sector.

Η Πράσινη Συμμόρφωση στην νέα ΚΑΠ 2023-2027, συνδέει τη στήριξη του εισοδήματος των αγροτών με περιβαλλοντικές και φιλικές προς το κλίμα γεωργικές πρακτικές και πρότυπα, δημιουργώντας μια «πράσινη αρχιτεκτονική» υποχρεωτικών Καλών Γεωργικών και Περιβαλλοντικών Συνθηκών (ΚΓΠΣ), οικολογικών προγραμμάτων και μέτρων αγροτικής ανάπτυξης.

Αυτό το σύστημα στοχεύει στην ενίσχυση της βιωσιμότητας, στην επίτευξη των στόχων της Πράσινης Συμφωνίας της ΕΕ, όπως ο μετριασμός της κλιματικής αλλαγής, η διαχείριση των πόρων και η προστασία της βιοποικιλότητας, και περιλαμβάνει διατάξεις για εθελοντικές πρακτικές μέσω οικολογικών προγραμμάτων για την παροχή κινήτρων για περαιτέρω πράσινες δράσεις.

Στόχοι της Πράσινης Συμμόρφωση είναι να συμβάλει στον μετριασμό της κλιματικής αλλαγής και στην προσαρμογή στις επιπτώσεις της, να διασφαλιστεί η βιώσιμη διαχείριση των φυσικών πόρων, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του νερού, του εδάφους και του αέρα, στην διατήρηση της βιοποικιλότητας και των στοιχείων του τοπίου σε όλες τις γεωργικές εκμεταλλεύσεις και η εκπλήρωση των στόχων της ευρύτερης περιβαλλοντικής και κλιματικής στρατηγικής της ΕΕ.

Η “Συμβουλευτική Γεωργίας” αναφέρεται στην παροχή εξειδικευμένων συμβουλών και καθοδήγησης σε αγρότες για τη βελτίωση των καλλιεργητικών πρακτικών, την αύξηση της παραγωγικότητας και τη βιωσιμότητα της γεωργικής εκμετάλλευσης. Συμβουλευτικές υπηρεσίες προσφέρονται από γεωπόνους-συμβούλους. Γεωπόνοι-σύμβουλοι που συνεργάζονται με αγρότες για την επίτευξη των γεωργικών τους στόχων. Βελτίωση αποδόσεων, μείωση κόστους, προστασία του περιβάλλοντος και ενίσχυση της βιωσιμότητας των αγροτικών εκμεταλλεύσεων.

Οι Οργανώσεις Παραγωγών είναι ομάδες γεωργών που επιδιώκουν να ενισχύσουν τη θέση τους στην αγορά μέσω της συνεργασίας, δηλαδή την συμμετοχή τους σε μία ομάδα με κοινά χαρακτηριστικά όπως ίδιο προϊόν παραγωγής με σκοπό την συνεργασία. Οι Οργανώσεις Παραγωγών λειτουργούν για να βοηθήσουν τους παραγωγούς να μειώσουν το κόστος, να βελτιώσουν την ποιότητα των προϊόντων και να οργανώσουν την εμπορία τους. Οι οργανώσεις αυτές χρηματοδοτούνται μέσα από συγκεκριμένο μέτρο της ΚΑΠ τόσο για την δημιουργία όσο και για την λειτουργία τους, καθώς και για την αγορά εξοπλισμού ή δημιουργία υποστατικών.
