SusCrop European seminar on sustainable crop production
May 10, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - May 12, 2022 @ 8:00 pm
On 10-12 May 2022 SusCrop ERA-Net is organising a European seminar on research and innovation in sustainable crop production and a workshop on enhancement and optimisation of innovation. The event will take place in Aarhus University, Denmark.
How can difficult weed species be handled in organic plant cultivation? Can improved Vicia faba breeding supply Europe with green and sustainable protein? Is stinging nettles a sustainable crop – and what can it be used for? Can the development of climate-smart rye contribute to sustainable cereal production in marginal environments? These and many other issues are investigated by European researchers in transnational research projects financed by the ERA-Net Cofund Action “SusCrop”.
SusCrop aims to strengthen the European research area in the field of Sustainable Crop Production. In 2019 under the first co-funded Call, SusCrop selected 13 transnational research projects for funding within the area of sustainable and resilient crop production. This event has been organised in collaboration with these research projects. The main purpose of the seminar is to facilitate dialogues between researchers, research users, stakeholders and other partners.
The purpose of the seminar is to present the results of the research, and at the same time to engage into a dialogue with stakeholders and research users about the use of results. Thus, the first day of the seminar is dedicated to the presentation of the research. On the second day of the seminar, there will be workshops aiming at strengthening the application of research results in practice.
Finally, keynote presentations will focus on different aspects of successful collaborations between research and stakeholders / research users.
Both the seminar and the workshop are open to all stakeholders and is free of charge.
